Michael Douglas is Quite the Bear in This Wall Street Clip
20th Century Fox has released this new clip from Oliver Stone's Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps featuring Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) taking Bretton Woods (Josh Brolin) to task for his business practices.
Hitting theaters on September 24, the follow-up also stars Shia LaBeouf, Frank Langella, Carey Mulligan, Susan Sarandon and Vanessa Ferlito.

Tom Hardy Replaces Fassbender in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy
The Daily Mail reports that filming is about to start in London for Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy , the adaptation of John Le Carre's seminal cold war best-seller to be directed by Tomas Alfredson ( Let the Right One in ). The article mentions that Inception star Tom Hardy will now play Ricky Tarr, who was going to be played by Michael Fassbender. Fassbender had to drop out because he just started filming X-Men: First Class .
Gary Oldman is starring as George Smiley, the spy charged with unearthing a mole who has embedded himself in the highest echelons of the secret service. Also joining Oldman will be Ciaran Hinds, Jared Harris, Colin Firth and Benedict Cumberbatch as British operatives.
The script for the thriller was written by Bridget O'Connor and Peter Straughan.

Olivia Thirlby Cast in Judge Dredd
Olivia Thirlby has joined the cast of Judge Dredd , reports Variety .
Thirlby will play Judge Cassandra Anderson, a psychically powered rookie Judge who teams with Judge Joe Dredd (Karl Urban) for training. Set in a dystopian future, the British comic book adaptation focuses on a police force given the power to act as judge, jury and executioner to whomsoever they perceive to be part of the criminal element.
In the 2000 A.D. comic book series (within which Judge Dredd is a recurring story), Anderson goes on to lead the city's Psi Division, maintaining an uneasy friendship with Dredd.
Judge Dredd will be directed by Pete Travis with a script by Alex Garland. It was previously adapted into a film in 1995 with Sylvester Stallone in the lead. The character of Judge...

Although the project is now on indefinite hold and may never see production, Pixar has released thirty conceptual images from Newt . Originally planned as the studio's summer 2012 release, Newt would have followed the world's last two blue-footed newts who, after scientists pair them together for mating, quickly find that they don't exactly get along.

Jesse Wigutow Plans an Osterman Weekend
Jesse Wigutow, the writer of It Runs in the Family , has been hired to draft Summit Entertainment's The Osterman Weekend , reports Variety .
The film, based on the espionage thriller by Robert Ludlum, was previously adapted into a film by Sam Peckinpah (his final work) in 1983.
Wigutow also worked, uncredited, on the script to 8 Mile and is currently working on the F. Scott Fitzgerald adaptation Tender is the Night and the Steve McQueen biopic, Divorcees .

Jock's Dune Concept Art Online
Jock, the comic book artist who, with Andy Diggle, created The Losers , has revealed a dozen pieces of unused concept art for Dune .
The images below were apparently submitted to the project when Peter Berg was helming. Since then, Pierre Morel is said to have taken the project in his own direction. Still, the concept art provides a fascinating look at what might have been.

Ridley Scott Offers Alien Prequel Hints
Ridley Scott offered a few specifics about his still-untitled Alien Prequel in an interview with The Independent .
"The film[s] will be really tough, really nasty," says Scott of the proposed two-part prequel, which he says will take place 30 years before the first film, "It's the dark side of the moon. We are talking about gods and engineers. Engineers of space. And were the aliens designed as a form of biological warfare? Or biology that would go in and clean up a planet?"
Scott refers to the first film's Space Jockey, part of a mysterious race of giants that carried the alien egg as their cargo. A mystery in the first film, the creature's origins have not been explored in subsequent entries to the franchise.

Unbreakable 2 Story to be Used for Third Night Chronicles
With Devil , the first film in M. Night Shyamalan's "Night Chronicles," hitting theaters on September 17, the filmmaker revealed to MTV that we'll see the story he was going to use for Unbreakable 2 in the third movie in the film series.
"I cannibalized the idea for the sequel to 'Unbreakable' for one of the 'Night Chronicles,'" revealed Shyamalan. "It was such a cool idea for a villain, and it was actually originally in the script for 'Unbreakable,' and it was too much. There were too many villains, so I pulled this villain out and was like, 'I'll make this the second flick.'"
Instead, Shyamalan used the villain and story for the film that will come after Twelve Strangers , which is expected to be the second movie in the "Night...

Liam Neeson Goes Grey
Liam Neeson looks likely to take on the lead in The Grey , says a report at Heat Vision .
The film, to be helmed by Joe Carnahan and written by Carnahan and Ian Jeffers, was originally announced with Bradley Cooper in the starring role of an oil driller who leads a group of Alaskan plane crash survivors against a pack of wolves. Neeson is now in talks to replace Cooper in the Scott Free production.
Neeson most recently appeared in The A-Team , also directed by Carnahan.

Jamie Bell Also Joining Man on a Ledge
Jamie Bell is in final negotiations to join the cop thriller Man on a Ledge at Summit Entertainment.
Sam Worthington is attached to star with Asger Leth directing and Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian and David Ready producing. Anthony Mackie is also in talks to star.
Based on a script by Pablo Fenjves, the story involves a former NYPD officer, played by Worthington, who threatens to jump to his death, and a female psychologist.

Paranormal Activity Creators Head to The River
Oren Peli and Michael R. Perry are developing a television series called "The River" for ABC and DreamWorks TV, according to The Hollywood Reporter .
The series will again use a "found footage" format and will deal with the disappearance of someone along the Amazon river, presumably with supernatural overtones.
Peli wrote and directed the first Paranormal Activity and is currently working on his follow-up film, Area 51 . Perry was responsible for the screenplay to the upcoming Paranormal Activity 2 , set to hit theaters on October 22nd.

Emma Bell to Star in Final Destination 5
Arrow in the Head reports and we've confirmed that Emma Bell, last seen in Adam Green's Frozen , has landed the female lead role in Steven Quale's Final Destination 5 . She'll also be seen this fall in"The Walking Dead," which airs on Halloween.
The actress stars in the fifth "Destination" alongside Miles Fisher, Arlen Escarpeta, Nicholas D'Agosto, Ellen Wroe, Meghan Ory, David Koechner, P.J. Byrne and Tony Todd.
Shooting begins on Monday for a August 26, 2011 release.

Anthony Mackie May Join Worthington On a Ledge
According to Variety , actor Anthony Mackie is in talks to join Sam Worthington in the police thriller Man on a Ledge for Summit Entertainment and producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian and David Ready.
Based on a script by Pablo Fenjves, the story involves a former NYPD officer, played by Worthington, who threatens to jump to his death, and a female psychologist.
There's no information about who The Hurt Locker star might play in that equation.

Foreign Language 13 Trailer Online
A foreign trailer for the upcoming 13 has made its way online.
The film, a remake of the French-language film 13 Tazameti , tells the story of a construction worker who steals an envelope and follows the instructions within, leading him to an underground world of big-money gamblers, who bet on Russian roulette tournaments. The ensemble cast includes Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, 50 Cent, Ray Winstone, Ray Liotta, Michael Shannon and Alex Skarsgard.

Manual of Love 3 Adds Monica Bellucci
Monica Bellucci has joined the cast of Manual of Love 3 , reports Variety .
The film is the third entry in the Italian anthology franchise from Giovanni Veronesi. Each part is made up of short, intertwining films about love and have been box office hits in Europe.
Bellucci is said to play the love interest of Robert De Niro's character, a divorced American professor living in Rome. De Niro's part (and presumably Bellucci's as well) will be spoken partially in English and partially in Italian.
Cameras are set to roll on the production at the end of the month.

Neil Gaiman's Sandman Television Series in Development
Neil Gaiman's Sandman is being planned as a television series reports Heat Vision .
Warner Bros. is allegedly seeking a creative entity to become the program's showrunner, but the article notes that "Supernatural" creator Eric Kripke may be at the top of the studio's list.
Sandman , which launched DC Comic's Vertigo imprint, ran for 75 issues beginning in 1989. Gaiman's worlds-within-worlds weaved an episodic anthology, focusing on the allegorical character of Dream and his brothers and sisters, known as the Endless (Death, Desire, Despair, Delirium, Destruction and Destiny).
An adaptation of the series has been rumored since its inception two decades ago, most recently as a spinoff film for Dream's sister, Death, which Gaiman had plans to write and direct...

Rihanna Daily has posted a large gallery of photos featuring Rihanna on the set of director Peter Berg's Battleship , also starring Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklyn Decker, and Hamish Linklater.
The movie, based on the Hasbro game, will unfold as a massive Naval adventure across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Universal is targeting a May 18, 2012 release.

Paula Patton Cast in Mission: Impossible
Paula Patton has been cast in Mission: Impossible , says a report from Deadline .
Patton was rumored to be in the running alongside Lauren German and Kristen Kreuk, but the Precious actor beat out all competitors and will star as a young operative working with Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise).
Deadline also notes that the film will not be titled Mission: Impossible IV , opting to play the sequel up as a reboot of the franchise.
Patton and Cruise join returning actors Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg along with new-to-the-franchise actor Jeremy Renner. Brad Bird ( The Iron Giant , Ratatouille ) will direct the project as his first live-action feature with cameras set to start rolling this fall.
Mission: Impossible is planned for a December 16, 2011 release.

Syfy Journeys to Neverland
Syfy is re-teaming with writer/director Nick Willing to present "Neverland," his original prequel to author J.M. Barrie's classic "Peter Pan," it was announced today by Mark Stern, Executive Vice President of Original Programming, Syfy and Co-Head of Content for Universal Cable Productions.
Production is set to begin on the 4-hour movie event next week in Genoa, Italy and Dublin, Ireland with a cast including Rhys Ifans as James Hook, Anna Friel as Captain Elizabeth Bonny, Bob Hoskins as Smee (who previously played the character in Steven Spielberg's feature Hook), Raoul Trujillo and Charlie Rowe as Peter Pan. It is slated to air in 2011.
