  • Costume Designer Michael Kaplan Confirmed for Star Wars: Episode VII
    Costume Designer Michael Kaplan has confirmed with Clothes on Film that he will be the costume designer for the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII . “I am very excited to be working on Star Wars,” Kaplan said “ I’m so looking forward to collaborating, once again, with JJ.” Kaplan has previously worked with Abrams on both Star Trek flms and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol . His impressive resume extends even further as Kaplan designed the costumes for cult classics Fight Club and Blade Runner . Star Wars: Episode VII  will be directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Michael Arndt and is scheduled for a 2015 release.

  • Timecop Planned for Big Screen Reboot
    Dark Horse Comics' Timecop is heading back the big screen. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Universal Pictures is currently developing the property for a franchise reboot with Marc Shmuger and Tom McNulty producing. "What a dream: to travel through time," Dark Horse's official description of the series reads, "You can change the past, the future, your future. Then imagine Max Walker, one of the Time Enforcement Commission's toughest and most extreme cops. But as nasty as Walker's methods are, even he may not be able to stop a nefarious plot to destroy the future as we know it."     Lionsgate has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Blood Ties from Worldview Entertainment. The film premiered at the 2013 Cannes Festival and the studio will release through its sister company Roadside Attractions.   • Fast & Furious 7 Will Return to Where it All Began
    Although Fast & Furious 6 doesn't hit theaters until this Friday, May 24, work is already underway for a seventh big screen entry, planned for July 11, 2014. Speaking today with Variety , franchise star Vin Diesel says that, while the past few films have played up international locales, Fast & Furious 7 will take the action back to where it all began. "We are bringing it back to Los Angeles,” he says. Continuing the global exploits in the franchise built on speed, Diesel and Paul Walker lead the returning cast of Fast & Furious 7 with more actors expected to be confirmed soon.
